Tell us a little bit about E. H. Gochnauer. What do you do? What are you best known for?
Gochnauer at HOME is a full-service home comfort contractor, providing professional heating, air conditioning, geothermal, air quality and plumbing installation and repairs.
Our commercial division, E. H. Gochnauer & Sons, Inc. offers complete services to businesses. Since 1933, we have been assisting customers throughout the Lancaster County area with everything from minor repairs and periodic service to major installations and renovations. We strive to build trust and long-term relationship with our customers by insisting upon exceptional quality, professionalism and value.
When and how E. H. Gochnauer start? How has it grown? How many employees do you currently have?
Since being founded by Edwin Gochnauer three generations ago, our company has grown to more than 40 HVAC and plumbing professionals. Our specialty is helping customers identify their specific needs and offer the best, most cost-effective systems for their homes or businesses. Our family takes great pride in the tradition of excellence we have built and is deeply committed to ensuring that every customer is delighted with our systems and service
Why is your company so successful?
In today's challenging economy, customers are looking to get the most for their dollars. We help them select the most economical systems without sacrificing the quality and capabilities they need. The same is true of repairs. Sometimes replacing a system is smarter in the long term. In other situations, a repair is sufficient, avoiding a major expense. We help our customers make the right decisions.
What do you like about doing business in this area? How does your company participate in the community?
We are proud to be a long-term Lancaster area business and an active member of the community, supporting many worthy causes. How about you – Tell us about your background and role with E. H. Gochnauer.
I started full time as an apprentice in 1979, became a foremen in 1983, and then project manager in 1996. In 2000, I became Vice President, President in 2005, and President/Treasurer in 2010.
Family? Hobbies? Interests? Favorite Vacation Spots?
My family and I reside in Mount Joy Township, Lancaster County. Both my son and daughter are very active in sports, so my wife and I spend quite a bit of time at soccer and field hockey games. We do a log of boating over the summer, and like to vacation at Raystown Lake, PA and Bethany Beach, DE, along with some new locations every year.
